Dorette Potgieter is ’n ervare Suid-Afrikaanse aktrise met rolle in film, teater en televisie sedert die 80’s. Sy het haar debuut op die verhoog op die ouderdom van vyf gemaak en het op negejarige ouderdom ’n rol in die film, Kringe in ’n Bos, met Arnold Vosloo losgeslaan.

Nadat sy haar BA Drama-graad aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosh in die middle 90’s voltooi het, het sy ’n suksesvolle loopbaan in Suid-Afrika as ’n model gehad.

Dorette het ’n huishoudelike naam in 1997 geword met haar rol in Egoli as Susan Bosman. Ander hoofrolle in verskeie ander plaaslike produksies sluit in die reeks Voete van Goud, Soutmansland, Villa Rosa, Hard Copy, Plek van die Vleisvreters, Rhythm City en Vloeksteen I & II. Sy het in die film, Ballade vir ’n Enkeling as Alicia Franke opgetree en het ook rolle gehad in Die Pro, Born to Win en in Hoender met die Rooi Skoene deur skrywer en regisseur Koos Roets.

Dorette het aan die derde seisoen van die internasionale produksie, Black Sails gewerk, aan die Amerikaanse dokumentêre ondersoekende TV-reeks Hear No Evil as FBI-agent Keiser en sy was Annelien Steyn in Swartwater I. Dorette is ook te sien in Die Kasteel, ’n nuwe sitkom vir kykNET.

Dorette Potgieter is an experienced South African actress with roles ranging in film, theatre and television since the 80s. She made her debut on stage at the age of five and at nine landed a role in the movie, Kringe in ‘n Bos with Arnold Vosloo.

After completing her BA degree in Drama at the University of Stellenbosch in the mid-90s, she enjoyed a successful modeling career in South Africa.

Dorette became a household name in 1997 with her role in Egoli as Susan Bosman. Some lead parts on local television include the series Voete van Goud, Soutmansland, Villa Rosa, Hard Copy, Plek van die Vleisvreters, Rhythm City and Vloeksteen I & II.
